Home of the Giants MPAA Rating
By Fredy on December 26, 2009 | Filed in: Home of the Giants | With 1 Comment »

Home of the Giants is, in case you didn’t know, a 2007 independent film starring Haley Joel Osment, Ryan Merriman and Danielle Panabaker.

The movie,  “a coming-of-age story told through the eyes of “Gar”, a high school journalist who covers the basketball team as it heads thoward a state championship,” has not had a proper theatrical release yet but it’s available on DVD (very limited) in Australia and South Africa, and it also had a TV premiere in Hungary.

But we will hopefully get to enjoy this movie in theaters sometime next year. Home of the Giants just got a MPAA (Motion Picture Classification and Rating program) rating:

Film: Home of the Giants.
Distributor: Screen Media Ventures, LLC
Rating: PG-13
Reason: Rated for some thematic elements, violent situations and language including drug references.

Fango #290: Mad About The Crazies
By Fredy on December 22, 2009 | Filed in: Articles, The Crazies | With No Comments »

Fangoria Entertainment has released a set report for The Crazies. Read below:

Blam! Brains and blood splatter the windshield of a big rig as the character who just took a shot to the head flies backward, slamming down on the concrete. Elsewhere in the truck bay/workshop, the smell of burning flesh hangs heavy in the air (actually, the chemical stench of a previously safely-on-fire stuntman). Gunfire echoes in the hangar-sized building; “Cut!” is called, playback watched, and then on to another setup on the remake of George A. Romero’s THE CRAZIES.

It’s a slightly nippy March night in Georgia, and day 12 of the nine-week shoot on the latest gruesome facelift of a ’70s horror movie, being directed on a significantly higher budget by Breck Eisner (whose credits include SAHARA and FEAR ITSELF’s THE SACRIFICE). Having an estimated $25 million to play with gives Eisner the opportunity to take Romero’s core concept and give it an action-packed approach the original could never achieve due to its low budget (shot in 1972, it cost around $220,000). Overture Films (the theatrical arm of Starz Media, which owns popular genre-centric DVD label Anchor Bay) releases the new CRAZIES February 26.

The Crazies: Third Poster
By Fredy on December 18, 2009 | Filed in: The Crazies | With No Comments »

Hi everyone! The third one sheet teaser poster for The Crazies has been released. Thanks to BD:

On February 26 Overture Films will release The Crazies, the highly anticipated remake of George A. Romero’s politically charged horror thriller that revolved around the inhabitants of a small Kansas town who are beset by death and insanity after a plane crash lets loose a secret biological weapon into the water supply. This morning we got our grubby little mitts on the brand spanking new one sheet that teases “Fear Thy Neighbor,” along with a giant pitchfork (watch the trailer to see what that’s all about). Directed by Breck Eisner, Crazies stars Timothy Olyphant, Radha Mitchell, Joe Reegan, Danielle Panabaker, Joe Anderson and Justin Welborn.
