I have now added screencaptures of Danielle’s performance as Becca Darling in The Crazies!  In the film she plays Judy’s (Radha Mitchell) assistant at the medical clinic in a small town in Iowa, one of the four still sane residents that try to survive an apocaliptic situation when a virus that causes insanity followed by death is spread.

Even though Danielle’s appearance is rather small, she was great in her role. The movie itself is one of the best horror films I’ve seen in years. It isn’t perfect but it’s much better than most recent remakes, including Friday the 13th.

According to Cinema10, John Carpenter’s The Ward is among the high profile films rumored to premiere at the 67th edition of Venice International Film Festival. Organized by La Biennale di Venezia, the festival will run 1st to 11th September 2010 at Venice Lido. The official line-up will be announced during a press conference to be held in Rome at the end of July 2010.

The Ward is a thriller centered on an institutionalized young woman who becomes terrorized by a ghost. Starring Amber Heard and Danielle Panabaker, the film is slated to open September 24 in North America.

I know it’s probably too late but I FINALLY got the chance to see The Crazies at my local theater last night (yeah it sure took me nearly four months) so I’ve updated the film’s section with the first D-Panabaker.Org original review.

From the beginning of the movie you can tell there’s something wrong in the town, one of the very first scenes features Danielle Panabaker, which is great. But about five minutes later we get the first dark incident, it unleashes a series of horrific (and sometimes very exciting) situations that don’t stop until the end. There’s a creepy claustrophobic vibe during the entire film, and most of the time you find yourself seating at the edge of your seat just to end up getting a jump scare. That’s really how the whole film works, which is great because it keeps you interested, but it gets so common that you just know it’s going to happen again…

Friday the 13th actress Danielle Panabaker is getting serious with Zachary Abel, the hottie from the gymnastics drama Make It or Break It.

Zach, 24, and Danielle, 22, were cuddly and got a couples massage at the Muscle Milk Fitness Retreat in Beverly Hills on June 4.

“Zach was by Danielle‘s side the whole time,” a spy tells Life & Style. “She was on crutches because she broke a toe, and he even held her bag for her so it was easier for her to get around.”

I’m also very sorry for the lack of updates lately, there’s literally nothing happening these days. Danielle is probably either shooting her new film ‘Renaissance Girl’ (which is unlikely since nothing new about it being financed has been said) or taking a small break. But either way we have ‘The Ward’ ready to launch this September, and there’s also ‘Weakness,’ which should premiere later this year at the film festivals, so there’s plenty to look out for.
